Bollywood actress Akshara Haasan, daughter of legendary actor Kamal Haasan who made her Bollywood debut with ‘Shamitabh’ starring megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush is making the headlines for a surprising reason.
The actress disclosed in a recent interview that she, who was an atheist, has now started to have faith in Buddhism and thus, has converted into Buddhism lately. The actress, who claimed herself to not believe in God, is now spiritually inclined towards this religion.
Akshara Haasan, is sister of Bollywood Star Shruti Hassan and younger daughter of Kamal Haasan & Sarika.
Kamal Haasan took to Twitter to tell her that he supported whatever decision she took and would continue to love her even more, no matter what.
When this news reached Kamal, he tweeted, “Hi. Akshu. Have you changed your religion? Love you, even if you have. Love unlike religion is unconditional. Enjoy life. Love- Your Bapu (sic).”

Akshara promptly replied to his tweet and wrote, “Hi bapuji. No, still an atheist. Although i agree with budhism as it is a way of life and in an individuals way of life. Love from your daughter akshu (sic).”

The actress, unlike her sister Shruti Haasan, wants to become a director. She is looking forward to directing Kamal, Sarika and Shruti Haasan in the future. Akshara has bagged a great opportunity to work with Thala Ajith Kumar in his upcoming film “Vivegam”.
The movie “Vivegam” has sum up the shoot and is now the team is on a promotional hunt. It was at one such promotional event of this film in Chennai that Akshara revealed about her now being a Buddhist during a media interaction.
