Based on the lives of professional mourners (known as Rudaalis) in Rajasthan, and directed by Kalpana Lajmi, here’s one flick which will make you escape your daily grind and spare a thought for people who are not so fortunate in life. Dimple Kapadia did an explosive job in this film and went on to win the National award for Best Actress as well.

Well, what do we say about this one. Bandit Queen chronicled the life of the female bandit, Phoolan Devi, and showed how she was forced to become a bandit after being raped multiple times. Seema Biswas did a brilliant job and this film is not meant for the faint-hearted!
