5. Rivalry with Juhi Chawla

Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla were rivals ever since they stepped into Bollywood industry, as they both were competing as much as possible. Both have been the super hit actress of the industry. Juhi had eveb siad that Madhuri was the biggest competitor for her. Both used to meet formally from each other. Both were getting the opportunity to work together in the film ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’. Juhi was selected for the role of Karisma Kapoor, but Juhi was not prepared for it.

Before marrying Juhi, Jay Mehta used to be crazy about Madhuri. It is said that he had also showered flowers from the helicopter over her house to impress Madhuri. A controversy broke out when Madhuri Dixit rejected T Rama Rao’s film ‘Sada Suhagan’ opposite Govinda. It is being said that Govinda’s career had reached the rock bottom then and hence, Madhuri opted out of the project as she did not want to feature opposite a failed star.

Later, in one of her interviews, Madhuri garbaged all the rumours and gave a detailed explaination on to why she chose not to do ‘Sada Suhagan’. She was quoted saying, “I had signed this film (Sada Suhagan) along with Swati and Awara Baap. Simultaneously, I was also being signed for heroine roles. Like for Uttar Dakshin. And then big producers like Boney Kapoor also began to approach me. So I went and spoke to T Rama Rao and explained that I did not want to act in a small role, when I was getting female leads. I did this for my career and not because I had anything against Govinda”.
