Sundar. Susheel. Risky. Now that is a catchy punchline for any film, let alone one titled A Gentleman. Sidharth Malhotra plays double role for the first time in the film.

Story of the movie:

Film’s story starts from US where Gaurav (Siddharth Malhotra) works in a MNC company. Gaurav has a house, but looking for a suitable girl for marriage. He starts loving Kavya but Kavya does not love him due to his simplicity. Kavya wants a guy who lives adventurous life. After a few years, Gaurav has to come to Mumbai on the company’s assignment. Rishi enters the scene jumping off a railing and knocking a security guard unconscious; he’s a rough, risk-taking contract killer for Unit X headed by Colonel (Suniel Shetty), but he’s a goon with a golden heart who has had enough.

When Rishi tells Colonel about his decision to leave ‘Unit X’, the initially reluctant Colonel allows him to leave the outfit, but, only after completing one last task. Wasting no time, Colonel instructs his men to bump off Rishi once the task is completed. Do Rishi and Gaurav ever cross each other’s paths, what connection do Rishi and Gaurav have with each other, what happens to Rishi and Gaurav in the end, does Gaurav become successful in realising his dreams and does Rishi become successful in completing the given tough task by the Colonel, is what makes the crust of the film.

Direction of the movie:

Raj and DK’s treatment of this narrative is funny, and some scenes are truely hilarious, buying into the confusion they have built for themselves. Film’s direction is the best. Film’s location and shooting style is fabulous. However, the story is entangled, which can be worked on. Film dialogues are not really special. Apart from this, the story is quite urban, which will liked by upper-class audience.

Star Cast Performance:

Sidharth Malhotra has done a better job than the previous films. However, it can not be called an outstanding performance. Since the two roles (read ‘characters’) are not separated by their looks and costumes, it was quite a task for Sidharth Malhotra to pull it off. And yes! He brilliantly manages to impress you with both the roles.

Jacqueline Fernandez does nothing besides providing the glam quotient in the film. Her pole dance has already become a much talking point of the film. Even though she attempts her best to exhibit her acting prowess, she still lands up struggling at a few places.

Darshan Kumar, who has done films like Mary Kom, NH10 and Sarbjit impresses with his acting skills. Despite being in a ‘guest appearance’, the film marks the comeback of Suniel Shetty, who does his role with his usual sincerity and perfection. Given the right set of roles, Hussain Dalal will surely be a delight to watch out for in the days to come. Rest of the characters help the film move forward.

Music Direction:

The film’s music (Sachin–Jigar) is just about average, with no memorable songs. At the same time, the film’s background score complement the narrative and the proceedings. Cinematography by Roman Jakobi is impressive. The film’s breath-taking action definitely forms one of the highlights.

Watch Or Not:

If you are Siddharth Malhotra’s tremendous fan and wants to see the best action then this action packed movie can be seen once.
